You should just buy a tamed card from those player shops that sell the NPC pets for ~10k.

I'm nearly r4, and I'm curious as to how other b. summoners here get all the money for their r4 equipment. 2 weapons, 2 warrior armors, and an entire full set for myself... How do you guys get the rupees for that?!

I spent 14 mil + 7 mil = 21 mil just for my orc! Now that I'm outta money, I as thinking of using my orc to power farm on my lower lvl characters for empty cards, so I can grab equipment for my 2nd pet... how tedious

I tell u how I did it

Until i hit R5 i never got any gears beside a R4 +5 lvl10 2h axe to lvl 10. Neveeer. Not even sure if my 2nd pet had any equips lol, did I even have a 2nd pet? *thinks* till it hit 85, i think not lol. I went for Auras 1st I got dualsumon pretty late. I think my 2nd pet used lvl 1 +0 r3 gears without stones. All my equips where +5 lvl 1 with lair vit/str stones which i neva bougth but only used from drops.

Why? - Because i was poor and I hated boring farming (still do)

I didnt pvp, just dpdp as fast as I could to r5 (80% time without ss ). Saved all my money for R5 gears which ofc I didnt buy at all just waited for drops ^^. Got R5 in nov/dec 2007 dun remember anymore.

Now? - Im having high enchanted lvl 10 R5 gears for myself and my pets and loads of other stuff ^^.

And if I was u (not being R4 yet right?), I'd not get any R5 gears to higher than +5 and leave all at lvl 1 too, cuz till u hit 120 (r6) E5 will be out already some time and the new dng where R6 Weapons will drop. U better wait till 120 save up 100s of millions, get way over 100 epros and enchant all R6 weapons u need for u and ur pets to +10 and higher ASAP. Depending on ur lvl pace and using ss or not u have 40 lvls to go to 120+ maybe even the 2nd part of E5 will be already out so u dont need to get any high enchanted R5 armors either. (R6 Armors will only come out in 2nd update). No point in wasting all ur money on a Rank that u will have out run in a few weeks of dpdpdp IF u dont plan on pvping alot.

hey im a newb to this game and i dont quite understand the whole farming thing. how does it work?
i want a second pet but cant afford a card from player shops and dont want to use up all my money straight away when i can afford it.
are there any NPC's that sell cards?

Farming is basically grinding (killing) mobs to get something that they drop. You cant use another pet until job lvl 30 theres a skill for it.

Interesting. I feel stupid for wasting 60 mil trying to get my r4 dirk to +10. Never reached +10 either, gave up at +9 after 8 fails. Anyways, from your signature, I noticed that you are quite quite rich. If you never farm and always DP, how were you able to get "hundreds of millions of rupees" to buy all those pets?

I usually never get my equipment past +4. The only exception would be the weapon, because I like the glow

Saving up for r6... Good idea, but I'm not exactly a hardcore player

That's the problem with r5, since there isn't really anything else to save for, everyone has nothing to do with their cash (If they have any ;~;)
So they + armors and weaps really high.

Agree and disagree on not spending money till r5/r6. Unless you're not a hard core grind enthusiast if you're a slow leveler and gonna be r4/r5 for a long period of time much like i suspect i will be i can see to justify spending money on armor because it will benefit you in your time being. On a side note I myself am closing in on r4 and hopefully r5 not much longer after if i get time to dp dp dp but anyhow getting to my point does anyone have screenies of r4 and r5 female bsumms i've honestly only ever seen males on bahamut and am curious to see how the armor looks different between the male and female characters because i have a female character

Thanks and agreed the female r5 summoner looks way better then the male summoner armor.. i think the male summoner suit just looks like a metal tube that they get stuck in and cant get back out of

I always overenchant all my items no matter what rank i am.
But i don't sell them when i'm done, i save them for eventual alts or pets.
Better than having to make another and wishing you had just saved the first.

=) Heh i know that pain, tried to get my R5 armor from +14 to +15, waisted 65 epros in a row. Not to mention before i waisted around other 30-35 epros, too. So after 100 epros of fails, i think i let it rest -.-. Im not a Cs user so no real money waisted, but the amount of ruppes rly hurts

Getting r5 in november 2007 with constant delvling till around 2 weeks ago helps ^^. Thats like 5-6 months in pp on dpdp - 85-90% without ss unless I do petlvl service or some of my pet is close to +25 ^^- while i get drops and lvl my own pets, which aside from hawk and sally I did not buy, but farm, self tame & selflevel. I hate farming, i rly do -.-, but i did ofc, everbody has to i would assume, either cuz u want that pet or cuz u want ruppes.

Yeah i agree with u on that point ^^, if u dont dpdp but slow lvl or prefer solo most time, it might be good to have lvl 10 gear before r5. Otherwise with dpdp all day ^^ u rly get fast r5 now especially with that increased exp now -.-.

here is how you can afford all that stuff by the time you hit a new rank.... never use SS! SS doubles your exp but not your drops, thus you miss out on the items you would normally get while leveling normally...

here is how you can afford all that stuff by the time you hit a new rank.... never use SS! SS doubles your exp but not your drops, thus you miss out on the items you would normally get while leveling normally...

I don't see why you'd get flamed for that, it's actually a fairly smart thing to do. There is really no point rushing through a rank until you have equips, so it makes some sense.
