Re: Tanking and Assasin Hands
toxicbunny wrote:Also the explination for Assasin hands says works with 1h sword or dirk BUT then says usable with all weopons.....
I have tried it and I can cast it with my 2hander but does this skill actually work then or not?
it says usable with all weapons but that only refers to casting, its saying it can be cast with any weapon out. but earlier in the disciption it says "a revaelatoin skill which gives you a chance of performing two sucessive attacks when attacking with a long sword or dirk"
the same goes for thunderbolts revelation and loading restrain, they say usable with all weapons or all weapons aplicable but that still only refers to the casting of the skill and not the effect it causes

Hey Dash, after reading your guide i decided to go hybrid. Right now I'm lvl 35 with skills in 2hsword and bow, and 1h sword. I usually focus more on bow when DP, and 2h sword when solo - I only bothered learning 1hsword skills to be able to tank later on. Anyways, I had a couple questions I was going to ask (not all are topic specific, but you seem to be a pretty nice guy, so I'll ask anyways)
1. What jlv does freezing arrow come into play?
2. Is there a limit to the number of cards you can have equipped/carry? Is there any reason NOT to buy cards for every skill you have?
3. How many skill cubes can you combine with cards before they are unstable? Do you perchance know the success ratio for that (i.e. 80%chance fail)
4. You said in guide that Melee is decent in PVP - what strategy do you usually go for when pvp with melee? Is puller better in PVP? Which class in game is best at pvp? (i ask because i have been pked a few time when i was lower lvl and would like to get revenge eventually, lol)
Thanks Dash, keep up the hard work!

id be glad to answer your questions seeing on how dash doesnt seem to mind my imput
1. You get freezing arrow at jlv30
2. To my knowledge, there is no limit to equipable cards, the only hinderage on people is cost, some cards are rather expensive and some dont do much so are skipped
3. Even making a card +2 there is a chance of failure, i do not know the actually success rate though, i dont believe it is horrible but ill leave that to dash
4. Melee is most effective in pvp when combined with the other weapons, i for example start out by freezing then using long cast bow skills for DoT then switch to melee for debuffs or stuns (depending on wheather I changed to 1h sword or my spear)
The best pvper is the best player usually, and the best player has the most skills avalible within their own class and knows how and when to use them, that said i find sorcs to be rather anoying in pvp with their abilty to use pets and shadow pressure, sleep and their atk spells make them strong, but they're my favorite to pvp aginst because they take the most thinking outa me.

What he said.

Yep, only 1 card per skill though.

Well, some have told me it's 80%, others 50%. Save those expensive skill cubes for skills you really think help alot. For me, cards worth cubing would be Assassin Hands, SSS (especially if you plan on getting a bow), and Energy Charge and maybe a few more that I can't remember right now.

Full melee will do ok in PvP depending on who they fight. If it's a strider, they're most likely fscked :S sad but true. And as usual what darkdragon said

Yo man, thanks for this guide. I was seriously having second thoughts about making a pure spear fighter because it seemed like dirk/1h-sword/dual wield fighters had more benefits, when reading up on the skills. But now that you've explained how the skills work (especially the whole bit on Wind Cut vs. Blasting Rock Cut, that was very informative),
So now I've learned, as you said, that spear isn't a bad idea at all, and is useful in boss/dp situations, and maybe even in PVP.
Maybe when I'm higher level I could work on getting more JP for doing a little hybrid, but at low levels I'll stick to using spear.
Again, thanks for all the info.

Run that by me one more time? LOL
And just to clarify, I can cube a skill once with full success rate, 2x is like 80%?
Whats the highest cubed skill that you have ever heard of? Which cards/cubed cards do you have?
Thanks guys!

I think 2H Swords are the best, and right now im a lvl 22 jb lvl 15 Fighter. It is good to specialize only in 2H Sword, then upgrading other melee style weapons after 2H Sword is maxed? (Is that what a Hybrid is, BTW?)? Also, dual wielding looks cool, but lots of ppl say they suck. Anyways, 2H swords rock, and once i max them out, i'll consider raisingother stuff.

Usually hybrid means you have 1weapon type maxed passives but other weapons for specific skills.
For example a bow fighter might have an axe just to do log split. The axe has no upgrades in rupees and spent no (or near none) jps toward axe mastery. All you do is upgrade the skill tree for that skill.

No one knows the failure rate for sure. I've heard it's 80% or 50% from different people.
Highest cubed fighter card I've seen is mekong's +4 Assassin Hands on Tortus XD Oh, and someone's +4 Log Split @_@ Crazy rich people.

and dash i prefer HP, LK, HK, LP, HP, HK, HK, HP, HP, LP
Post Script:
also we should pk said +4 log split person until the server decides that they should drop it for suking so bad

at jlv35, you get thunderbolts revelation (which does not work) and you can lv mental concentration up to lv5 so it lasts for 60 seconds at +45% crit rate

thunderbolt revelation is supposed to use 3 spiracles to add extra damage to ranged atks, i have no idea if or when they will be fixing this problem
