Pets for BS

Postby scavi250 » Wed Dec 17, 2008 11:07 am

I am a 66 BS. I am using a magic build. I have the following pets and gear.

95+10 yeti
64+10 orc
64+10 red pixie
54+4 (evo1) skelly
60+10 blue pixie

R4 Warrior Armor +6 lvl 10
R4 2h axe +5 lvl 10
R3 Warrior Armor +8 lvl 10
R3 2h axe +5 lvl 10
R3 2h Staff +5 lvl 10

Generally when I solo dungeons I use my yeti as main tank and duel summon the orc and run power support. If I am in field I use the RP. If I am in a party, I don't use my yeti and instead duel summon my orc and rp.

My question is, how can I improve my setup? Should I level my skelly up and use it instead of the orc? Should I sell the skelly? Any advice is welcome.

The skelly works better with the yeti for more DD in dungeons, whether you're in a party or not. Otherwise you're fine.

I prefer to have a melee pet as primary base, and DS the RP as DD with the skill attack

Dungeon Solo/Duo:
2 melee DD pets, id not use skelly btw, use yeti, orc, hawk, kenta, and dont forget ur BP in 3rd slot to summon it every once and then to heal ur main tank pet.

Farming normal field mobs:
2 ranged pets, rp + bp/siren/(sala - has 1 ranged skill 2 melee)/angel

Personally i like to keep it cheap ^^, so 2 melee DD pet in dungeon allow u to only use Force Chips, which are cheaper than lunas ^^ and in normal field (duka for me) im not using any chips unless i want to confirm a particular dmg output of a pet for a screenshot. If i was to use any chips in duka id have to use lunas cuz or rp, but lak doesnt cover chips so no point in using any :P

So in the scenario u created id use yeti 95+10 with r4 gears and the orc with r3 gears for dungeon solo, runing power support. For Field farming id use rp with r3 gears and bp with r3 warrior armor and r3 2h mace or 2h axe, running spirit support. For field farming BP with 2h axe is fine has lil more patack than mace, for dungeon where u need heals + DD mace is the best weapon, 2nd choice is 2h staff for dungeon boss soloing but less DD 8)

if you wanna improve i would stick your yeti in the WH, and learn to play your class without hiding behind a high level pet.

Once you get to r5 and your pets your own level you will be just another noob r5

Aye. I only got the yeti because I was able to get a steal of a price on it. I have since sold it (for a 20m profit). I am currently using a 66 orc and a 61 BP for soloing in dungeon. I am trying to sell my RP and Skelly to raise money for a sally. My plan is to use Orc for tank and sally for DD and BP for pocket heals. Does this sound like a reasonable plan? I am currently level 68 and most often solo in Lost Mines on similar level mobs.

By the way, how much does a fresh / low level sally go for on Pantera server?

Sounds like you are in a good spot.

This is coming from my exp with my SB alt, The Orc should make a good tank for you, but I would go with a Skelly over a RP. I found the RP hard to manage with Dual Summon because it would always hit first when i attacked, getting agro, till my Yeti hit and took it back. This leads to to much Dmg on the RP. Also, I hate using Luna Chips to farm cause im cheap :). Also, on you guys have a atk speed toggle I think, which would really help the skelly if it is % based.

The BP is great, but dont worry about leveling it up at all. even 20 levels behind you, it can still do its job without to many issues when on a pet class.

Enjoy!

I currently use a skell and a BP on my BS just those two, and their performance is very nice. Although being a magic build you'll prob want to kill b4 the mob touches you. So I wouldn't know too much hear. I use a melee set up btw

Ok. As you can see in my sig, I was able to get ahold of a sally. It was a bit higher level than I wanted, but it was at a decent price, so I went ahead and got it anyways. For the time being I am using orc as tank and BP with a mace to support DD/Heal. I figure when I get to the sally's level I'll start using it in between BP heals.

Which leads me to my next question. How should I skill / stone the sally. I know Mace and warrior armor for equipment, but I am a little unsure of the skilling / stoning. Right now I am leaning toward getting all the active attack skills maxed as well as any passive atk / def skills. For stones, I was leaning toward a more glass cannon build with Int and Strength stones. Any advice here? I tried using the search function, but all I came up with was stuff from pre-E5.

Imo the best pets for BS are Hawk, BP and RP.

There are some pets that can do a lot damage, but not even them all can t tank and hit hard at same time as Hawk. BP is a need for BS cause we have to sacrifice ouselves to heal our pet, then BP helps a lot, and it can do a decent damage if it was a nice weapon. RP is a perfect pet for BS because the fastest way to farm is using RP and staff, then we just have to chip, Fire Arrow and let RP cast something and the mobs will be dead for sure.

I hope my reply can help anyone.
