Dirk BS now useless?

In my opinion, dirk BSes/OLs aren't useless. BSes are more a support class (to both the party and their pets) than a DD class. Just look at their auras. But when they turn into OLs, they become a bit more damage-focused.

Compared to the pet class with pet heals and pet res, right? Also the pet class with more defensive based pet buffs.

I believe that a good dirk OL can rival a mage's damage. TL;DR: (staged) harpies are epic on a dirk OL if they have a good 2h axe or spear equipped. And if you aren't concerned with range, staged kentas are pretty good as well.

It might also be worth mentioning that voidwarp and SLK activates with skill hits which is ideal with dirk OLs (3-8 hits per cast). This just makes them more suitable for bosses and soloing (Vulcanus included). I suppose it's worth waiting to see how much HP Kubrik mobs have until ruling them out entirely DP-wise.

Most DPs are almost entirely ranged. So while you're running to the mob to stab it with your kitchen knife, the most is already pretty much dead.

And at R7, the OL's NM shouldn't be relied upon anyway. You should have at least one huna and VM/Corr. Huna has more reliable CCs and the VM/Corr's NM is usually more accurate. Not to mention this is only necessary if you don't have a sin.

OL has the NM VM wish they had. OL and CO have the superior NM. Also, this is what they make wis for. The [cheddar] are you DPing with, full str/agi? If you can't hit nightmare on a mob then I doubt your kitchen knife is hitting very accurately.
