Magic mastery doesn't make FA/LB cheaper to cast. It makes you do a paltry bit more damage. Idk why you even use high level spams when you're farming. i use level 3 and I kill all mobs before they hit me. I use my same-level red pixie. I bring 1000 chips and 0 mp food lol.

I know how to use corpse MP drain. It's not a graphic bug. I cast when a corpse is lying there, it spends mana and makes a cast sound, and then I don't get any MP back. 40-50% of the time. If I wait for the MP before I attack another target, I get MP back 70-80% of the time. Either it has high failure rate or it's bugged. Either way, it sucks.

Also, I don't see why you have time to cast corpse mp drain and don't have time to cast lightning.

If this is true, then your DPs suck BAD lol. :lol:

I'm level 99 and I haven't been in a DP like that since CV at level 80. It's a very stupid idea for CM, priest, and ESPECIALLY huna to stay far back from center of the spawn. If the healer or CM accidentally takes aggro, what happens? The entire party has to run to entrance of the room to save them instead of just using provocation or hitting mobs while they're attacking priest/CM.

I told you you are not WASTING 2 seconds casting lightning. You are WASTING 2 seconds waiting for mobs if you don't do anything. You, as a CM, should not be attacking monsters before a melee class hits them. That would give you aggro and frustrate the party. So what you do is you charge up a long-cast skill while you're waiting for the monster to get hit.

Also, when you say "with 1 chipper" I hope you aren't trying to imply that you have parties with more than one chipper, because that would be hilarious. :D

Don't hate on me 'cause I can play my class better than you. :wink:

Chaos Mage is a class that is very hard to play WELL. Tactics are important always, let it be the dungeon, arena or siege. You have to know what spells to cast and when to cast them.

Many people rebirthed to CM but many of these rebirthed again to another class. It is very easy to play CM badly. A CM that does not debuff, crowd control, guard cleric, stay with high mana, and gets killed/pull aggro often becomes useful only for buffs. In the buff realm he competes with pet classes and hunas who also have good buffs

The recommendations from the CM guide from early Epic4 still hold true.

The only difference between Epic 4 and Epic 5 is that justice was made in the sense that the uber low Pdef of the DM was rewarded with the best attack potential. In this way, CM in a siege is an easy kill once MS+DS are on cooldown.

I figured out the problem with Corpse MP Drain. It's a visual bug. If you attack immediately after casting, then it doesn't show blue numbers and it doesn't show in chat box that you got MP. But 8 seconds later, your MP increases mysteriously. :?

1. So please tell me when i suppose to lvl up magic mastery?? In eraly lvls you tell its not worth it and in higher lvls you will not care about 70 or 100 damage becouse it will be less then 2% of damage dealt on r4. Following your reasoning i dont need ever to lvl up magic mastery, spell cool time (becouse i can cast fa and lb and i dont need to wait for spell cool of fa). I just need to max cm bless and spell cast passive and i can go for overbreed. Sure this appears to be the fastest way of lvl up stats but in my opinion this way is unbalanced. In that way you cant duel/siege or pvp
2.About DP - Sure i can be that i was in party wich sucked so much that my lvl 1+2(from card) spam spells still takes over aggro from tank. About 1 chipper i was in party where sbreeder and ass were both chipping in the same time. Monsters didnt die in 2-3 seconds but in 5-6 and it was a good party.

Please tell me how to play correctly CM. Im always farming on monsters of my lvl +4 to +9. In that field i must use lvl 13 fa/lb to kill monster in 3 casts but that make my mp going down :( Maby i suppose to kill lower lvl mobs and use lower lvl spam spells? Or just switch on my spam spells to lvl 20 and kill mobs on my present spot with 2 casts (or just 1 crit becouse im crit build) For killing monster with lvl 13 spam i must pay 168 mana {3x(60-4)} and for killing monster with lvl 20 spam i must also pay 168 mana {2x(88-4)}. I cant afford to buy higher lvl spam cards (too expensive :P) and i already burned a lot of spam cards. So please share with me your experience:D

And about spam spell lvl you are telling me that its true that in most parties (if not in ewryone) i suppose use lvl 1 spam spells? this appears to be a rule in E4 guides.

*I leveled up magic mastery from lvl 11 to lvl 20 at character level 87.

Maybe not so much with
"Don't get Lightning" as in PvP it can be quite useful to stun your opponent if nightmare and splash thunder fail, or if you want to keep them stunned for a bit =P
But then again, Thats just my opinion =P

One of the best CM guides I have seen, Keep up the good work :)

CM without Haste + MS + DS = a fail =D
But it would be a fail to complain about those skills too. They are powerful but not unbeatable though.

It's almost the same thing for warlock: without fail, we can make a constant Nm - Stun - Fear - Nm, etc. chain
But i stil consider the Wl as more fun to play due to the fact that you have to do the chain, not only throw the sky on your opponent.
Nevermind.

Against CMs, i know they will all cast ds, so, i just move next to them (except if i got stuned before), and cast my stun trap once those balls come on me, and then start my chain.

Just use your DS in any situation.
Just don't think that you will win the duel with this skill only.

I saw a lot of CM (even R6) casting it and... nothing.
Is the lastest one, it was a Sin Vs CM.
Once the CM casted Nm, i thought the fight was already finished.
I saw him prepare DS, without even throwing a stun (and CMs have a lot of stuns) and after Ds, this CM stopped attacking... The Sin was still alive, and killed him.

FARM
Soul chip, spam LB and FA, RP spam spells. Constant groceries/blue pots/MP drain/mana scrolls

DP
RP Twin Fireball on auto fire, spam max LB and FA. I have both of mine maxed 20/20 with +3 cards. The mobs are dead before I draw aggro. MP drain to recharge.

DP Bosses
RP limited spam, limited LB/FA spams. Wait till boss is 1/2 HP, Fire Blast, Thunder Slayer, finish with DS. If boss is still alive use Dark Arrow and spams till splat.

PvP
Haste - MS - DS - DA - Spams. If player is not dead I use nightmare - Spirit of fire - Fire blast - spams

PK
Meteor Shower. Let the guy run around the room and draw aggro :) Once he has enough aggro hit with nightmare. Sit back and enjoy.

How can it be ?!
When you cast MS, ALL the mobs within will be feared.
Even if he runs out of MS and comes back, the aggroed mob (out of Range ones) will come in your MS...
The only one to get the aggro is you o.O
