So I am now mainly bow specced and have been farming pixie for ten levels so have 125k jp saved up. Before going bow i was using assination hands so I am level 7 in that. I keep hearing log split is a must for DP in higher levels? Should I invest my points into Wind Cut and Log Splitter and just go 2handed long sword and eat the jp's spent on Ass hands ?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Go 2H Sword. The points used in Assassin Hands aren't really wasted if you have a shield and 1H sword handy :P You can just equip and act as a tank if the party needs one.

Great guide Dash. Just wanted to get your take on a Sword/Shield Fighter. I'm currently playing one and it isn't nearly as slow killing as I thought it would be. I just came off playing a 2H sword HW and 2H Mace Kahuna both into their high 40s, but they got boring. Also I wanted to know if you planned on extending this guide when/if second jobs come out.

I have a 32 spear/bow fighter with a little 1hs skill if I need to go heavy defense, and I love it. I've ressurected him from retirement and re-outfitted him.

Just remember, log split is amazing. I just got mine to lvl 7..holy cow it completely shaves off their p.def.

Updates will come when Epic 4 is out. Hopefully, I'll be able to continue updating the guide in my free time.

Ok another Mr Dumass question. Seems that every fighter would be hybrid once you are above 40? Since you should have most of your main skills maxxed out? Or are you able to go higher in skills once you hit a certain level?

Thanks

the new jobs will allow for higher lvls of some of the skills and passives. I'm on spear training 8 on my lvl 33 fighter..the vagrant class allows for 30 lvls spear training.

fortunately i read this guide before starting my fighter :p

i have a 45/35 fighter :

active :

log split lvl 11 (+1 card)
wind cut lvl 6 (+1 card)
energy charge lvl 6 (+1 card)
mental concentration lvl 6 (+1 card)
assassin's hands lvl 5
blaze revelation lvl 3

passive :

hp increase lvl 10
defense practice lvl 5
long sword training lvl 10
two hands long sword training lvl 3
shield training lvl 5
fighting power reinforcement lvl 8

i think i am going to max fighting power reinforcement, and after that going to jlvl 40 (i heard its needed for the second job change), and finaly save points for the second job :)

but im wondering..is it not possible to go higher than lvl 3 with the two hands long sword training ? same for defense practice ..only lvl 5 ?

what recommendation of rings would you guys say a fighter should have and how much would you expect to pay (please be honest)? and do you guys think provocation is a good skill to have? i currently have it to lvl 3.. not really sure if i should go any higher.

I'm a noob on the Pantera server. I've read that the bow fighters can do some nasty damage in PvP, although I've invested in melee skills. I really want to stay a hybrid fighter, but due to second class transfers I feel I need to go full hunter (unless someone can tell that soldier will have better PvP skills). Therefore, should I invest more in 2H swords or sword and shield for random times when I want/need to melee?

From looking at the skill trees, it seems like the second class transfer to soldier is when the axe becomes a big part of the Gaia's skills. Because of this, would you recommend going to axe, or leveling up with a different weapon until the transfer, or just keeping the current weapon? I understand that this will probably have to be a decision that occurs when the second class is actually implemented, but if you have any thoughts right now, it would be appreciated.

I use this regularly as I solo quite a bit. It raises your HP and any soloing fighter can use that to your advantage.
