Not sure how you play, but I striclty solo/farm, and I've had the best luck with an orc/hawk pet. You need a DD because in general, the Gaia mage classes don't dd that well, plus with only p-att you don't need lunas.
With rpw and cc skills the druid can heal pet and control adds.

i've used a red pixie on my druid for most of the time i've played since epic 3, it works great for DP, and its good for farming, though you have to manage their skills pretty carefully to prevent them from always having aggro and wasting your mp healing them.

the best overall pet for a Druid is a Sally, good for farming, good for DP, good for PVP, compliments the druids hybrid magic/melee skill set. it is, however, only an offensive pet, doesn't help you defensively at all.

Orcs and Hawks are the best defensive pet for a Druid, boosting patk and pdef through the unity. good for farming, and ok for dp and pvp, they don't boost the magic side of your Druid at all.

i generally rank Druid pets in this order Salamander, Hawk, R-pix, Orc, tortus, everything else.

Not even gonna lie, I'm a druid 12x. I've used every common pet and sally on my druid at one point in time. For common pets, the orc or skelly are good pets for the druid. The skelly is a DD so it allows you to kill faster and thus take less damage. The orc is also good because you take less damage and deal better damage as well. If you are a mage oriented druid than the RP allows you to kill at a pretty decent speed and even lets you quickly dispatch enemies from a distance. The sally is also one of the best (easily obtained) pet for a druid because of its unity and power. Hawk would be a better version of a orc obviously.

But...........the best pet I've had to compliment my druid so far is the.......Harpy. Why? Because it's pure DD meaning you kill faster and take less damage. Its unity makes a really big difference if you're a 2h axe user because it increases your overall DPS, and if you're 1h axe user your enchants will occur more often. You "technically" don't have to put a bow on the harpy since your FoSF will make up for the loss patk depending on the weapon you replace it with. Mine's uses a 2h mace and it still puts out great damage. It allows you to be more versitile since you can attack from a range with the harpy and go in close while the harpy adds extra damage from afar. Lastly, I think the harpy makes for the 2nd best pvp pet for a druid right behind the RP.

Just my 2 cents

Druids really do suck for farming, if you're doing it then kudos to you. Best pet for farming is by far an RP, just let the RP do most of the work for you. Non-ranged pets suck full stop for farming, it only slows you down waiting for your pet to catch up and attack (by which time, the mob is pretty much dead).

For PvP, I've experimented a lot and it's hands down a BP. Yes - Druids have good heals but they kill your mana so fast. Not having to worry about mana for healing (and getting more mana back from BPs unity) means you can focus a lot more on DD and still survive. If you're dueling with pets and your BP is dead? Petrify your opponent and use the Druid res skill - it's a tough combo to beat.

Melee pets having to run from mob to mob is barely an issue, since you gotta run from mob to mob yourself either way. Yes they have a lower mov speed, but you can just click on the ground instead of using "attack with creature" as a moving command, and that way your pet moves at the same speed as you. Or go to a good farming spot.

I'd say:

-Hawk
-Sally
-RP
-BP
-Anything else

From best to worst. I don't see my sally doing any more damage than my hawk when farming, and the m.attk portion of the unity is sorta wasted outside of pvp.

RP has the highest spike damage, but you gotta use lunas, lose the advantage of her being ranged (unless you want her to tank), and again the unity is wasted outside of pvp. Good luck keeping aggro off her if you decide to try soloing.

BP can heal you, but she adds little to the already abysmal druid damage output. And besides pvp I can't think of a place where the trade-off of damage for healing is worth it.

Depends on your play style as well. Like, some people like to use staves when farming, or spamming high CD, high MP cost, low damage magic skills for the sake of feeling useful in a DP for more than their usual buffslave/second-rate support healer tasks. Yeah, I kinda don't like my druid nowadays =.='

in my opinion sally seems to be the perfect fit for druids and hunas in general. Having the matt and p att unity helps when you are using magic and physical attack. Although bp rp works really well. There was a druid in my guild who kept a bp and rp for different instances. For example when he was in dp that needed him to do alot of support healing he would use bp, and if that dp needed more on the dd side he would use rp. Angel also seems to work well if your lucky and or have the mulla to use.

hawk/orc
why not sally?
cause sally cant tank when you put it to your low lvl char ._. (good when you're playing druid only)
