Hack Prevention idea
EDIT:
I just came up with a perfect prevention. Have an option IN GAME while logging out or finding an option somewhere on the interface. LOCK ALL ITEMS ect. It will automatically send you an email. If you want to unlock your items, you have to click the link to the email. This is completely optional to turn on. As long as you use it, you won't lose your HARD EARNED items that get taken away only to make profit.
Not a new idea or anything. Something very simple which could have been thought of by anyone. Have an IP log that players can see. Up to say a month. At least that way, there is a chance to get the hackers before they get away. So if someone else logs into your account, you will know. Also a notification that states, this account was logged in at this IP, is this ok?
Not to mention pass-coding the inventory and AH. I suggested this years ago and it still hasn't been done. Something as simple as this hasn't been done.
To be completely honest, even though I know this is going to get this post removed, I really do believe that the owners of the game are behind this. There are a few reasons I can think of:
1: Hackers are getting rupees/items, selling it and sharing a profit with Rappelz.
2: "Hackers" are getting rupees/items, selling it and sharing 100% profit with Rappelz.
3: "Hackers" are getting rupees/items, selling it and expecting broke players to spend more money on the shop to get more rupees.
4: A mix of anything of the above.
This seems like a big scam to me. If it weren't, this would have been taken care of ages ago. There are so many simplistic ways to prevent hacking. I know that it has nothing to do with malware/keyloggers because nearly everyone I've heard of that has gotten hacked has had no issues. Don't use the same passwords as emails/forums ect. Don't go to any sites.
If it isn't you, do something about it! It is not hard...
I'd also like to mention. I just changed my password, again just in case, and this time I am using my On-Screen keyboard. If I ever type in a password for WH number, I am going to use this. If I get hacked the only people to blame is you for having such crappy prevention. I can't be hacked by key logger if I am using the on-screen keyboard.
