pention to have servedbyrinoa forum moderation revoked  we all have a right to fill the forums up with the spam to bring attention to not just a problem but a [provolone] epidemic. every individual case deserves its own page because every hack case is diffrent just ask the gms  and now you have gone beyond your moderation in my honest opinion.

I made a poll to find out what else the hackers were doing to accounts to strip them. If your account was hacked, please vote. I think we could all use a better understanding of what the hackers can access in order to improve security.

HDV-17835-635
Got hacked 2 days ago,

I am really lucky to have guildies that can help to rebuild my charecter :)

Wots really annoying is seeing my stuff on sale in a/h by K and nothing seems to be done. :?:

If I had done something wrong it would be instant ban until it was proved right or wrong.

Don`t mind waiting in line for my goods to be re-instated which I know will take time but most annoying part is pet go back to lvl 1 which is no good if your R7 and want to find a dp, who`s gonna dp with R7 with a pet not near their lvl?

With all problems we are getting it would be nice to get at least 1 pet back with its original lv on each character hacked. 8)

If that ever happens then my magus and mb can dp without feeling guilty about letting the partys ks down.

Hope the rest of hacked players get their stuff back and gala net can find a way to stop these hackers.

Just a few thoughts,

Have good christmas and happy new year.
Sue

ps. if you see `SuFireyFriend` sally or `lucius`hawk running around or any pets with `su` in name pm me in game plz luv to know who brought them :)

Well, considering that it's referred to Onion Head, it is pretty much a given that it is not a serious title. I believe that forum rules only refer to advertising other MMORPGs and are enforced resonably. I'm pretty sure that there are people with a S4League tag in their signature, for instance, and I'm also sure that if you say stuff like, "World of Warcraft has this cool mailing system; any chance that we could get it in Rappelz as well?" the statement would be taken in context and not as advertisement.

That said... Rinoa, any chance that the cleanup could be a little less draconian? I do agree that the situation was getting dispersive and I wasn't even bothering reading all the threads anymore, but clumping everything hacking-related into one thread is going to be even messier.
Something like allowing one thread to ask for updates on tickets, one thread per server (in their forum) to notify new cases, one to discuss theories, another to discuss remedies/safeguards and a last one to gather information.
That makes four thread in the main forum and one per server. It should not clog up the front page, but it should enable people to find posts.
I mean... as it stands right now, a GM wanting to update on tickets would have to slog through a gigantic thread. Same with people wanting to discover who was hacked recently and so on. It makes the forum useless to discuss this topic, which sort of defeats the point of moderation.

Thank you for the constructive criticism. I have thought about this approach to organize hack related issues which is why I thought about using a wiki for it instead. A wiki, at least, can have all active discussion in one page rather than being dispersed. Discussion will always be in a forum topic. There are cons to this such as confusion on what topic goes where as some topics can bleed into other territories. Another is one topic can be constructive while another will be flamebait.

Thank you again, I am deliberating with other forum moderators on how to reorganize these topics to better suit you guys. For now discussion will be kept in this thread topic. I'll keep you guys posted!

Simple idea should work really well, just give us our out section of the forums, and directly link to CS or TS email so when someone posts in there they get a email. (well maybe not the last part but would be funny to see their inboxes full in an hr).

I have to congratulate Rinoa on doing this, to merge all hacking posts on one, just so it doesnt get annoying to see the tons and tons of spread around threads its a great idea!!! :D

bravo!!!!, it'll be like some other familiar threads that get flooded over the years and that Gala doesn't give a [gouda] about, like this one....

Meh, why were my posts not locked or moved? I posted some duplicate copies of newly created threads. I also posted at least 4 unique new threads. Who deleted all of them and why? Was this thread not created to discuss hacking related issues? Were my threads not regarding hacking related cases? Do mods not merge or move threads frequently?

servedbyrinoa wrote:I wasn't told by Gala-net to do this. After monitoring the forums for weeks, something must be done. Since everyone was up in the air about this sensitive issue I felt I would make the first move since no one else would.

You must understand that it is ridiculous to have the same topic pop up on the forums that cover over 2 pages.

I know you guys are very bitter about this decision but if you have issues with any of my locks, feel free to PM me (some of you have) and I'll consider reinstating it. I'll never delete your threads unless its spamming the same thing.

Are you really implying that the worries of the people who make these posts, Rappelz players who have been hacked, who have had a friend get hacked, that their worries are ridiculous?

There's a saying that people who bottle it up go crazy and jump off the building.

Other forum moderators decided to move threads. My only intent is to lock them and redirect traffic to this thread.

My statement has no implications.
