Corruption Skill - Quick question

I am 4x Sorce. I've been leveling fine thus far. I tend to mix questing and dp grinds for exp. As I'm nearing lvl 50, I'm noticing that in order to keep properly building my sorce, there is no way I'll be ready for a class change until at least lvl 55, maybe even closer to 60.

I'm a tad confuzzled with the Corruption skill. I was informed by a battle sorce that investing JP into this DoT skill would be beneficial. I'm not an attack skill sorce. I'm building a tortus tanker and after lvl 60, I'm switching to a rare/common... My question/problem is I invested quite a bit of jp now into lvl 3/5 Corruption. It doesn't seem to do much DoT--yet. My m. atk is a tad on the low side and my magical mastery is at 6/10. Only because I use Life Leech...

Any help available? Thanks.

Lol. Whoever told you that it'd be beneficial was yanking your chain. Corruption really stinks outside PvP.

Corruption is fixed damage over time, it's not affected by matk or chips. So I dunno what you were told but it was probably a lie or a miss-communication. Its only good in pvp and for dealing constant damage on bosses like Takin or Soul Seeker, you won't use it many other places.

Thanks for the posts guys. I guess it'll stay at 3/5 then.
I have used it a few times, it does about 600+- which is whatever... I also have a xbow strider and I triple-up with Piercing Arrow, Cursed Arrow, and Critical Shot. Seems to be a pretty good combo, and the DoT for xbow striders does less damage per skill than Corruption (currently).

Corruption is good for Pvp and nothing else
I use it on SS and Takin and it does a fixed damage that is not even close to what I do normally, and not worth the cast time.

Among the DoTs hunas have I find corr pretty helpful so I use it every now and then, I use whenever I can on bosses mine is maxed cuz I like it, anyways compared to Scorching flame or shackle of ground its actually good compared to those two

I was simply comparing the two, but anyways yeah I guess outside of PvP it slows you down, except maybe on bosses, but oh well

When the posters above mention about pvp, they meant those that have high p.def and m.def. Something that you can't dent with your dagger or FA spell.

If you are doing 1K+ damage normal hits, corruption DoT is very little compared to them and is a waste of time casting. But if you're doing minimum damage normally, the DoT is the second source of damage that isn't reduced by the p.def/m.def (if they don't resist it) and is well worth it. You can even kite them while it keep damaging them.

Considering mobs don't usually have p.def (only high HP), corruption is a waste of time and mana when cast on them.

All mobs in e4 have pdef.
Not much however, i always found they had about 100.
Corruption isn't really going to help you kiting either, you'll never kill anything with it and the cast time is too long to recast it without the mob catching up to you.
