just wanting to see what the general populous of you HWs are using ^^
i hope i haven't missed anything out at all.

1h mace and shield all the way.

and uhm well I was using dual swords, with e3, because of the powerfull mental blade. awesome skill... or in a dungeon party, sword with shield. but soloing dual swords. But in e4 my dual swords became quite useless. for me. my personal opinion and well then I made a +5 mace, and it rocked. one handed with a shield of course... pretty effective combo, excellent dp. and with a good damage dealing pet a solo combination!

I am using simple Sword and Sheild combo, only lvl33 at the moment though and from what i have read around the place Mace seems the way to go, so might find a mace and give my sword to my pet I think....just I need to find some more strike cubes now to upgrade a mace with

On my Current HW I am using two +5 1 handed swords
This mainly because I am speccing my HW to become a soldier.... But in the end I will probrably end up with Both a set of swords and a 2 handed sword ( the later simply because I like the look even thougha 2 hand mace would prob be more effective with stuns)

this however will take some time to do being as I plan to OB my HW to get the best usage outta him

my guesse would be personal prefferance it is entirely possible ta use one but the animations that come with spear atacks are kind of bland

so not as flashy as the rest...

Hmm.. my post didn't enter ^ ^ R5 Soldier choosed Dual Swords, the one I use most.

I know Soldier's using spear atm..

from what i seen my buddy Jian doing with his spear i would say everyone should use them lolz

r5 r4 or whatever, lvl doesnt matter if you play your class badly, not saying you do. im just saying using what other do isnt doing what you want to do unless you yourself have tried it and liked it

My mace is currently on my pixie and I use most DS.

Currently using 2h mace!

I've used all the weapons listed above. In e3, I used 2h sword up till r3. At r3, I switched to mace/shield for tanking and spear for pvp and DD. Then, I switched to 1h sword for tanking (back when sword outdamaged maces). When e4 came out, I switched to dual wielding (while r3), and when I reached r4, I switched to 2h mace as my main weapon.

glad to see spears are getting better. isnt their attack speed with maxed mastery 2nd job like 93 or something? since if it is thats pretty fast and would make great use of the static buffs. and its still a pretty damn strong weapon.

Isn't all equal atk. spd for all 2h weapons? Can't remember.. but 2h Swords was +5 of it. Anyway and thinking in the most effective 2h weapon, is the mace, but people have different tastes, and myself not a mace lover, should choose the weapon they like more, that's what makes also the difference between a common player/class and other player/same-class

speed wise i think its:
mace=axe < 2h sword < spear

Spear is the fastest and least damage, while Mace is the the slowest and most damage.

I guess if you take static buffs into account, spear might outdamage other 2h in basic attacks. BUT if you are a non-lazy dp'er, you can spam stun mace, which has a very fast cooldown and has about +550 p attack combined with cluster. Taken that into account, 2h mace can probably outdamage 2h spear even in dp by a little.

But in the end, there's really not much of a difference.

lol, i think the same

if u wanna be tanker hw and then knight u should use 1h mace and shield no matter u like dual swords (if u do, just become a soldier not a knight)
