- Advertisements - Players can say just about anything to attract buyers. Don't believe anything you cannot verify prior to trading. For example, don't be suckered by "FREE JP" ads when it's currently not possible for you to know.
- Taming/Leveling Services - There are two types of Breeder Jobs in Rappelz: Tamers & Levelers. Since successful taming is far more likely in a Tamer's hands, and leveling can safely be done by any player, we enforce honest taming services, but not leveling services. Be sure to e-mail rappelz@gala-net.com if you were scammed while trying to tame a pet.
- Lending Items - Sometimes players will ask to try out an item of yours before they pay you. Don't fall for this. We might punish the scammer & remove the item, but you may not receive your item back. We do not consider lending items to players a safe practice under any circumstances. Be careful when lending out items to people who want to borrow them. Even guild mates can scam you. Don't lend out any item that you can't live without.
- Delayed Trades - All items involved in a trade should exchange hands simultaneously. Do not follow through in any situation that results in you risking the loss of items. We might not return your item if it seems you could have easily prevented the loss.
Reporting Scams
There are a few things you need to do in order to be able to report a scam. Please note that properly reporting a scam requires some preemptive actions on your part. Both players involved in a trade should do the following in case the other tries to submit a false report to us.
- The Agreement - Before a trade takes place, restate what is supposed to be traded to you and to the other person.
- Bitter Endings - If something goes wrong, drag the top of your chat window up so that it displays more text &, if necessary, scroll up to the part where the agreement was made. Take a screen shot of the agreement & any other communication you had with the player. Take multiple screen shots if necessary.
